Abstract

ABSTRACT Syifa Atul Mahmudah., Planning and Scheduling Order and Selection Types at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VIII Downstream Tea Industry, Transportation Management., 2019. Distribution planning carried out by PT. PN VII IHT has several disadvantages including the frequent or excess of product demand and delivery delays within 1 to 2 days for each depot. This is because the PT PN VIII IHT has not been able to estimate when and how many distributor requests. Distribution Requirement Planning Method Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) is a method for handling inventory management problems in (four) depots to put more emphasis on control activities rather than ordering. The Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) method is expected to be able to help with the problem of product distribution planning and scheduling so that the company's distribution activities become more optimal, the company is able to meet demands on time and in the right amount and can also reduce the cost of distribution to a minimum. The problem that occurs is to determine the number of orders and mode selection in distribution activities with the aim of research to find out the optimal scheduling of orders and the selection of the best distribution modes. From the results of the study, if the distribution is improved, the best alternative is to use the Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) method, where the distribution is done using the Mitsubishi L300 mode box (own). The total distribution costs incurred by the Mitsubishi L300 box (self-own) amounted to Rp2,477,435, 39% smaller than the total distribution cost by using a diesel double colt mode (CDD) reefer box (hired) that is Rp. 4,044 .650.
