Abstract

ABSTRACT Effendi, Septyawan B. The Planning Route of Distribution of Crystal ice in an Effort to Minimize Distribution Costs at Bandung Ice Company, Bandung, Transportation Management, 2018. Bandung Ice Company is one of privat company that engaged in the ice industry that was used for consumption of beverages such as juice drink, etc. Shipments cover Bandung city, in fulfilling the demand for ice crystals to all consumers, the company use trucks with a capacity of 2.5 tons. Judging from the distribution system and the facts on the ground, the drivers still determine the distribution route according to their experience, so this being said inefficient because it does not pay attention to the route and distribution costs. The purpose of this study was to determine an effective route to meet konsumer demand by paying attention to transport capacity, and minimizing the shipping or distribution costs incurred in the distribution of crystalline ice and drawstring. The method used in completing distribution routes at Bandung Ice Company is using the Saving Matrix (Clarke and Wright) method. This method can produce delivery routes that are able to provide minimal shipping costs while by paying attention to the capacity of vehicle. By the Saving Matrix (Clarke and Wright) method will be able to provide a result regarding the assignment of vehicles in accordance with the capacity load in a number of shipping areas based on the biggest savings. As for the determination of the shortest shipping route by sorting the closest distance to the object, to obtain minimal distribution costs using the Nearest Neighbour method. From the results of data processing, transportation costs (outbound costs) of Rp. 509.3/km/ton. The shipping costs from the results of sorting the route using the Nearest Neighbour method on route one obtained shipping costs of Rp. 236,011.28 and on route two of Rp. 137,457.13. Then the total distribution costs incurred by the company from two routes resulted from the Nearest Neighbour method of Rp. 373,468.41. Key words: Distribution, Saving Matrix (Clarke and Wright), Nearest Neighbour.
