Abstract

ANALISIS PENGENDALIAN PERSEDIAAN CUTTING TOOL INSERT DENGAN METODE MIN-MAX (STUDI KASUS : PT. XYZ PLANT KARAWANG) Muhamad Faisal Nasrudin Program Studi S-1 Manajemen Logistik, Fakultas Logistik, Teknologi dan Bisnis, Universitas Logistik dan Bisnis Internasional ABSTRAK Manajemen persediaan merupakan bagian penting dalam operasional perusahaan khususnya manufaktur. PT XYZ sebagai produsen sepeda motor terbesar di Indonesia, pada bagian tool center memiliki peran sentral dalam memenuhi kebutuhan tool untuk proses produksi. Salah satu tool yang sering diganti adalah cutting tool insert dengan kategori fast moving. Pengendalian persediaan tool ini belum optimal karena belum ada metode perhitungan jumlah tool yang harus disimpan. Akibatnya, sering terjadi kekurangan stok (stockout) yang menghambat proses produksi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penyebab permasalahan persediaan cutting tool insert dengan analisis 5 why’s dan menentukan jumlah minimal dan maksimal stok untuk mengendalikan persediaannya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 33 hari di PT. XYZ plant karawang pada divisi machining sub divisi tool center, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data primer melalui wawancara dan observasi serta data sekunder dari jurnal dan literatur terkait. Pengolahan data diawali dengan input data demand cutting tool insert kategori fast moving selama setahun. Pengolahan data menggunakan metode min-max menghasilkan nilai batas maksimal dan minimal stok untuk 10 jenis cutting tool insert. Salah satunya, untuk kode part IDN-001 memiliki batas maksimal 14 pcs dan minimal 10 pcs. IDN-002 memiliki batas maksimal 27 pcs dan minimal 18 pcs. Hasil lainnya perhitungan safety stock sejumlah 5 pcs, titik reorder point yang sama dengan minimal stock, dan order quantity sejumlah 9 pcs untuk kode part IDN-001. Rekomendasi untuk PT XYZ antara lain melakukan review persediaan sebelum pemesanan, menerapkan batas maksimal dan minimal hasil penelitian, serta membuat inventory control card untuk memonitor stok. Dengan menerapkan metode min-max perusahaan dapat menghindari kekurangan maupun kelebihan stok di masa mendatang. Dikarenakan perusahaan sudah menentukan titik maksimal dan minimum pada persediaannya. PT XYZ as the largest motorcycle manufacturer in Indonesia, in the tool center section has a central role in meeting the needs of tools for the production process. One of the tools that is often replaced is the cutting tool insert with the fast-moving category. This tool inventory control is not optimal because there is no method of calculating the number of tools that must be stored. As a result, stockouts often occur which hamper the production process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of cutting tool insert inventory problems with the 5 why's analysis and determine the minimum and maximum amount of stock to control its inventory. This research was conducted for 33 days at PT XYZ plant Karawang in the machining division of the tool center subdivision, this research uses quantitative methods with primary data collection through interviews and observations and secondary data from journals and related literature. Data processing begins with input data on demand for cutting tool inserts in the fast-moving category for a year. Data processing using the min-max method produces maximum and minimum stock limit values for 10 types of cutting tool inserts. One of them, for part code IDN-001 has a maximum limit of 14 pcs and a minimum of 10 pcs. IDN-002 has a maximum limit of 27 pcs and a minimum of 18 pcs. Other results are the calculation of safety stock of 5 pcs, the same reorder point as the minimum stock, and order quantity of 9 pcs for part code IDN-001. Recommendations for PT XYZ include conducting an inventory review before ordering, applying the maximum and minimum limits of the research results, and creating an inventory control card to monitor stock. By applying the min-max method, the company can avoid shortages and excess stock in the future. Because the company has determined the maximum and minimum points on its inventory.
